What is the difference between logo and icon



A logo and icon represent a company or website. They are copyrighted and no other can use the registered icon and logo as you have seen it written at the bottom of many websites. 
Logo appears on the webpage while icon appears on the web browser when someone visits your site or as an app icon. 
The size of the icons are in 1:1 while logo could be of any size as long as it fits the header area and looks perfect on any device.
Note: Logo and icon could be same.
